Animation has come a long way since the early days of Walt Disney. No longer do people line up in rows and draw endless cartoons that will be transferred to stills and made into motion pictures. For the most part, animation is now largely the process of digital art made through the use of computer technology.

Not all animation, however, is digital, although it is leaning that way. However, it is still necessary for animators to work in the movie industry. It is up to animators to begin the digital process and to make sure that body parts on action figures move naturally. In addition, there are many cartoons and animated features that still use drawing animation instead of digital animation as it is considered a true art form.

Anime, which is a Japanese form of animation, has never been more popular and there is a growing demand in the United States for those degreed in animation art to produce anime and other animated materials. Many advertisers also use animation to sell their product. Despite the fact that digital technology has moved in to the animation industry, there is still a large calling for animation artists.
