Operating a forklift is a hard and specialized job that requires specific expert skills, training and experience. Not every person can operate a forklift. The law allows only those workers who received proper training and certification by their organization or company to operate a forklift. If you dont hold a certification, you will need to go through the specialized training. This training will include a large section that deals with security. Incorrect operation of the forklift may result in a lot of serious damage to the operator, people around and the property. This is the main reason why security and damage prevention is an important topic. Personnel should be able to operate the forklift in a secure manner.

One of the rules that deal with the forklift safety is to keep your feet and hands away from the forklift parts that move and can cause damage. For example, you should never put your feet right in front or behind the wheels. You should also keep your hands away from the chain.
