NCAA Mens Basketball Rule Change for the Year 2007-2008

There has been an extensive debate on certain changes for the rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Basketball mens division. There are studies on how much adjustments will be made regarding the three-point line. It was discussed and is approved by governing bodies that will be effective by the year 2008-2009. Not only that, there are also requirements and certain traditions that will be changed and is anticipated to be replaced by newer versions and sets of rules.

For those who are curious regarding the newly adapted three-point line marks, there would be no change in the width of the lane because the committee considered the wide extent they have to reach and the schools across the country that has to re-mark their line conjunction. This would eventually be considered but would take several years to put into regulation.

For the new three-point line being asserted as a true arc, the answer is a definite yes. It would measure for about 20ft, 9inches starting from the center of the basket. Do not fret though, because the idea of allowing an arc measuring a foot was dismissed. The committee acknowledged how expensive it would take for schools...
