There are coaches in each and every type of sport out there, and many of them are good at what they do. Many of these coaches have won a lot of games, and one of them is Dean Smith. He has coached for the North Carolina Tar heels for thirty-two years, and has won 869 games in his lustrous career. Dean Smith took his teams to NCAA playoffs for seventy-seven simultaneous years, and the final four as well. He also scored several sweet sixteen appearances.

Dean Smith has coached many college basketball players during his career: James Worthy, Michael Jordan, Sam Perkins, and the list goes on and on. Many people also say that Dean Smith is a very nice person, outside basketball.

Coach Smith had won more games than Adolph Ruff, another NCAA basketball coach. Ruff has won 866 games while he coached, and like it was stated earlier, Smith has won 869.There are no coaches that have won more games, although Bob Knight won 1869, the same amount as Dean Smith. Bob Knight will probably be the coach who wins the most games ever. Many people do not like Bob Knight, but he is a pretty good coach.
