Sugar Bowl tickets have always been a chance to let your hair down and enjoy the atmosphere in perhaps the worlds greatest party town – New Orleans. The French Quarter lights up in every way every New Years Eve, and the Sugar Bowl is just an excuse to prolong the party for a few days. It was always a great match – festive college football fans and a city that knows how to host a big party.

However, things have taken on an entirely different perspective in the past year, as Hurricane Katrina reminded the entire world what was and is important, and college football is way down the universal list. Katrina all but ruined the city, and the damage it caused will take decades to erase. This disaster was the single biggest natural catastrophe in the history of the United States, and the worlds collective heart poured out towards the good people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region.
