According to the National Swimming Pool Institute estimation, the total number of residential in-ground pools throughout the United States is approximately one million, whereas aboveground pools are estimated at three million. The Institute also states that there are more than 340,250 in-ground pools in motels, apartments, hotels, parks, apartments, and public places such as clubs, educational institutions and camps.
