Fever may be defined as a mild to moderate physical illness that is characterized by the increase in body temperature to above normal. A person is considered to have a fever if the body temperature has already recorded at 98.4 to 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not usually dangerous unless it measures 103 degrees or higher.

Having a fever accompanies many if not most illnesses known to man. The presence of fever may signal the presence of virus or bacteria in the body. When the immune system detects these infections, the body’s temperature rises and makes it harder for the invading germs. In many cases, it can be regarded as secondary to another more serious disease or illness. But the use of cheap generic drugs or less expensive medicines and proper lifestyle adjustments, this ailment can be easily treated and eased.

Most kinds of fever go away on their own after one or two days. However, there are certain things that can be done to hasten recovery and increase one’s comfort.
