There are many types of forklifts. Forklifts are classified primarily based on what fuel type they use. There are two broad categories of forklifts; these are the internal combustion and the electric ones. The internal combustion forklifts use either gasoline or propane for fuel and the electric ones are reliant on batteries. Electric forklifts are preferred over the internal combustion forklifts for indoor purposes because they dont give off fumes. The majority of forklifts are made for indoor use purposes for places like warehouses. They are mobile and very powerful and thus very useful when moving heavy weights around or lifting them on to shelves. Forklifts are most often used in warehouses, but some are meant to be used outdoors. These are referred to as rough terrain forklifts.
